This Easter, I went to Arizona. Most Easter, I sit at home watching tv, so my busy, chaotic trip was refreshing. I travelled to Arizona with my mom to visit my aunt, who was having her third baby. When we arrived, my aunt was already in labour, and I was treated by my youngest, soon-to-be middle-chilled. I will say my cousins are very lively. There is not a moment where there is calm or quiet. Yet as an only child, I enjoyed the chaos of a whole house, everything and everyone in constant movement.
I was so excited to go on this trip, and I had just spent several months clocked in darkness and cold; I was drooling at the thought of feeling the sun's warm rays against my skin. I exploded with euphoria the moment I stepped out of the airport and into the warm air. I also loved the cactuses. I saw hundreds of them while I was there, and the sheer size of them was exceptional, 8 to 10 ft tall, with prickly arms jutting out. It was shocking to see them being so used to maple trees and pines.
Besides visiting my family, I also did a lot of shopping. That's the main reason I was there. My love for Target knows no bounds. Everything from the clothing to the candy was amazing. I spent hours scouring every inch of the target, looking for all the makeup and treats only available in the States. Stores like you could never imagine exist, existed. My favourite was the hair products-only store. That store was a hair wonderland, with every kind of dye shampoo, conditioner, oil spray, everything. The sheer amount of hair dye was overwhelming. I have never seen anything like it before in my whole life.
The one thing I was looking forward to the most was the food. Everything is more prominent in the States. Everything a medium théorie is enormous here. I did find the sheer amount of sugar disgusting, but the Mexican food was on another level. My family and I went to Cafe Rio, a tex mes restaurant with the most fantastic cilantro lime dressing. I ordered the nachos and as I was in a coma, it was the most fantastic food I have ever eaten. Another one of my favourite restaurants is Chick-Fil-A. I had heard all about the chicken sandwiches, and OMG, they were amazing, the pickle crunch mixed with spicy buffalo sauce and cool ranch. But my favourite thing from there was their frosted lemonade. It was pure heaven, absolutely delicious.
After two days of being there, my ant returned with her newborn sun, and we spent a couple of days at home relaxing and playing with my cousins, and of course, an epic water balloon fight.
After this beautiful vacation filled with food and shopping and a wonderful time with my family, it was to go home. The whole time I was on the plane, all I could think was this trip went by to fast. I got home at midnight and went the school the next day to life stresses back again. Despite that, I will defiantly be going back to Arizona to see my cousins again.
